Sigma Lambda Gamma History:

Sigma Lambda Gamma was founded at the University of Iowa on April 9, 1990. We have 5 Founders: Gloria Cuevas, Julieta Miller, Maria Pineda, Danell Riojas, Guadalupe Temiquel. Since 1990 the sorority has expanded to 117 chapters, 13 associate chapters and 45 alumnae associations across the United States.

​​We are a historically multicultural sorority with Latina roots. We has multicultural membership includes over 120 ethnicities and nationalities. Sigma Lambda Gamma is the fastest growing fraternal organization in the nation

Sigma Alpha History:

The Sigma Alpha chapter of SLG has been on the U of M campus since February 19, 2000.
Our sisters are from 45+ different ethnic backgrounds and heritages; we are the most diverse chapter in the nation.
Our primary goal is to promote the empowerment of women while creating a fun and meaningful college experience.
